Every project begins by direct contact with the sender and the recipient of art. Our role is to professionally collect information related to works that are transported this way to ensure high quality implementation of projects. The moment we have all the necessary information, the project can begin. We communicate directly with all participants and thus relieve our clients of that part of the work. We will try to match the client desires regarding the objective circumstances that affect the organization of transport.
Art insurance is an important segment of our business because it protects not only the art but also the whole business. Insurance is made in cooperation with several local insurance companies, and if necessary, with foreign partners. We can provide transport insurance, insurance for the duration of the exhibition and the insurance combination of previous two, popularly known "from nail to nail," which completely covers all risk aspects of transport and exhibition.
To protect the glass on the paintings and prints we use a special adhesive that is removed by extracting with no traces, then the layer with air bubbles ("buble foil") to protect against light mechanical damage, and for a short time protects against climate changes, then the case is completely wrapped in foil above.
As a third layer of protection artwork is packed in cardboard case, which is shaped by artwork’s size and protects against heavy mechanical damage. In the case of three-dimensional objects and small sculptures as a first layer of protection we use non-acidic material (Tyvek, retex...), silky paper, and subsequently an appropriate cardboard box filled with paper and a soft sponge, which reduces the possibility of mechanical damage. Conveyor frames are made mostly of plywood and wood and are suitable for larger format picture without a frame (modern and contemporary art), while the baroque frames that do not require a special microclimate conditions can be transported in this way without a picture. Features of this package are lightweight and easier handling when loading and unloading.

We make art crates of all sizes and purposes. Art Crates are the best solution to protect artwork from mechanical damage that may result from changes in temperature and moisture in transport. We make it from plywood of varying thickness depending on the required dimension of a crate which is designed for paintings or sculptures. Filling an art crate is multilayered: the interior is coated with a waterproof wrap that is not drilled, but they lay, and it comes polyurethane foam of different thickness, which protects against mechanical shocks, and also serves as thermal insulation. Once we have obtained all the necessary information we can start the process of obtaining the necessary permits for export of works of art. Any artwork that is exported (either temporarily or permanently) must have an export license issued by the competent authority. We well cooperate with conservation departments, the City Office and the Ministry of Culture which are in charge of issuing such licenses. Also you can contact us if your art requires a special permit in regard to the material it was made.
There are two types of import and export; temporary and permanent. We have extensive experience in performing both procedures. In agreement with our partners we offer services of customs guarantee in case it is needed. We work closely with the Croatian Chamber of Economy who issue ATA Carnet, a passport for goods which replaces the temporary export and greatly facilitates and speeds up the crossing of state borders.

Art transport is done by vehicles fitted with a microclimatic chamber that prevents condensation and maintains an ideal temperature that does not change even when the vehicle is stationary. If the client wants and has the capability, we can send part of their staff as a courier to track art in transit. Our careful planning allows courier to work without bothering during supervision of packing and unpacking and installation of art exhibitions and uninstall. We provide accommodation in its proven and positively rated hotels across Europe and beyond. We provide the courier on every trip with schedule and travel itinerary so courier gets all the necessary addresses, contact and consultation times.
Our well trained staff performs all types of installation and unininstallation of art exhibitions. Careful art handling is the foundation of every good work. Regardless of the type, material, age, texture and tenderness of art, we approach it in especially attentive way. We work closely with all those who are in any way associated with the project, such as architects, designers, curators, museum technicians, etc. Safety is equally important as a quick job.
We own a warehouse which is equipped to store artwork and associated equipment, it meets the basic safety and microclimate conditions. It has allowed access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Kunsttrans Zagreb Ltd professionally advises and participates in negotiations for the signing of the international art shipping agreement. This process starts obtaining the necessary permits for export of artworks from Croatia or other countries. To obtain a license we must have a signed agreement between the lender and the organizer / buyer, insurance policy and supporting documentation, which we arrange according to the Authority. We also offer art shipping services in the region.
We offer customs clearance services of temporary or permanent imports and exports in/from Croatia or anywhere in the world. As the replacement of temporary export service we can arrange issuing ATA Carnet, a passport for the goods. We organize art shipping of artworks by land, air and water routes. During art shipping, we offer supervision of loading, unloading, and also monitoring while reloading, eg in transport aircraft.
